Breast reconstruction is done following the removal of a breast from cancer or more rarely from lack of development of a breast. It is the creation of a new breast mound and nipple/areolar complex. The procedure can be done immediately following the breast's removal or later. Reconstruction of the breasts improves a woman's self-image, self confidence and quality of life.

The reconstruction can be done using several different techniques. Dr. Owsley will help you decide which technique is best for you.
