Dr. Owsley, who performed his first augmentation 12 years ago and his first endoscopic breast enhancement 9 years ago, utilizes this technique almost exclusively. He feels this technique has many advantages.

1) no scar on the breast
2) does not cut any breast tissue
3) decreases the risk of sensory loss
4) better visualization at the time of the surgery
5) easier to perform and therefore lessens anesthetic time

This procedure is done on outpatient basis and is done under a general anesthetic.

The implants are usually saline filled but under certain criteria silicone gel implants can be used. The implants are put underneath the pectoralis major muscle to achieve a more natural appearance and to decrease certain risks.

Recovery from breast augmentation takes three months for the breasts to truly "settle" in their final position. The sutures are removed around day seven. The patient is able to return to work in 7-10 days.
