About Dr. Owsley
Dr. Owsley is a native Idahoan. He grew up in the town of Wallace where he met his mentor, Dr. Hubert Bonebrake, a family practitioner. Dr. Bonebrake and the future Dr. Owsley spent many Saturday afternoons on his porch discussing his future in medicine (after his yard was mowed).
After graduating from Wallace High School, Dr. Owsley attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana. He worked his way through college in underground mines, like his father had done. Dr. Owsley's father never wanted his son to lose sight of his roots. This hard manual labor helped Dr. Owsley establish his work ethic and sustain his enthusiasm to finish school.
Dr. Owsley then attended St. Louis Medical School. He went on to his residencies at University of Texas for a six year general surgery program and then a three year plastic surgery program.
In 1995 Dr. Owsley returned to Idaho to begin the practice of plastic surgery. He was the first surgeon to bring free flap reconstruction and tram flap reconstruction of the breast, and endoscopic breast augmentation to Kootenai County. Dr. Owsley's experience helps him personalize your needs in cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Owsley has interests outside of medicine. He is an outdoor enthusiast. He likes to camp, fish, hike and ride his mules in the back country.
